Richard Charlat

Growing up as the child of immigrants, I understand how a little bit of compassion and motivation can truly help to change someone’s life for the better. As the first of my family to attend college in the U.S., I wanted to ensure that I made the most of my experience there. While in school, I honed in on my legal skills by participating in the Trial Advocacy Team, the VIS International Arbitration Group and worked for the U.S. District Court in Brooklyn. I also spent my time there serving others as the member of two non-profits and working for the unrepresented in NY Small Claims Court.

Before starting my career in plaintiff personal injury law, I worked for a large defense firm and in insurance defense. What made me decide to switch was my deep-rooted passion for helping people who are truly in need. Now, I am able to utilize my skills and expertise to help people who have been severely injured by someone else’s negligent actions. As your attorney, I promise to work tirelessly to ensure you receive the most desirable outcome for your case.

Outside of work, I like to keep active and experience as much of life as I can. I enjoy trying new things like skiing, scuba diving, rollerblading and traveling.
