Premature babies have special needs and deserve the best chance of survival and normal growth. One of the life-threatening complications found in premature infants is necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC). There are many non-cow milk alternatives that do not expose vulnerable premature infants to NEC which carries almost a 50% death rate.
