At least seven people were injured in a New York overpass bus crash. The driver of the bus that crashed through an overpass barrier in the Bronx area, was also among those injured.

According to the New York Police Department, the tandem bus was dangling over the road below. The crash happened around midnight on January 15, on the westbound Cross Bronx Expressway and University Avenue, according to the NYPD. The injured people were taken to nearby hospitals.

FDNY Deputy Chief Pail Hopper said that the bus fell about 50 feet onto the access road.

So far the reasons for the accident aren’t clear and whether it was caused by a driver’s error or mechanical problems. No one was arrested so far.

After the New York overpass bus crash, the streets near the site were closed and the traffic was delayed.

Such accidents are very serious and various factors could contribute such as faulty vehicle parts, medical conditions, road hazards, and so on.

If you were involved in an accident, make sure to get medical help as soon as possible. Even if the accident was serious and there aren’t visible injuries, get a medical examination.

This is important because some injuries may develop after a couple of days.

When filing a compensation claim, the insurance company would not be eager to pay a settlement if you don’t have medical records that show that you got your injuries in the accident.

Hiring an attorney in such a case is important as well. Even though you can do this on your own, a skilled attorney will guide you and advise you and if it’s necessary they will negotiate until the insurance company offers you a suitable settlement.

If you’re looking for a New York auto accident attorney, here at Cellino Law we’ll gladly help you. Schedule your first free case evaluation.

  • I really just wanted to say thank you so much for taking my case, answering all my questions, and mostly for being very patient with me. I feel that without you and Roza I would not have been able to get anything at all. I hope to never need a lawyer again, but if I do I will definitely want you both working for me. Again thank your for you hard work, time and patience.

Your injury attorney took a hands-on approach and left me fully informed at all times as to where my case was going as well as how much ground we had to cover; leaving the final decisions in my hands but making sure that I knew all of the risks involved in the choices. I have dealt with a few law firms in my life on various different cases and this is the first time that I never had to call and/or track down my lawyer… because of this, I have and will continue to recommend Cellino Law to my friends and associates.
