A deliveryman who was hit by a car in Brooklyn died after a two months’ battle against his injuries. The accident was caused by a reckless driver in October.

Forty-three-year-old Xiang Wu, a Chinese immigrant, father of two sons, was fighting for his life for weeks after he was T-boned by a 2015 Dodge Charger. The vehicle ran over a red light and hit the man’s scooter on October 18.

Wu flew over the car’s hood before tumbling to the Borough Park pavement.

His death could upgrade the charges brought against the driver, Valdez Heron. He was initially released without bail on charges (which include reckless endangerment and driving in the accident that ended fatally).

Wu’s family spent the last two months hoping their husband and father would recover, however that didn’t happen.

The man used the scooter to support his family, making deliveries for Grubhub, Uber Eats, and Seamless.

Thirty-year-old Heron jumped out of his vehicle while it was still in gear after hitting Wu just a mile away from his home, the police said. The vehicle rolled down the street, hitting a parked Audi before coming to rest.

If you were hit by a car in Brooklyn or involved in a similar accident or lost a loved one in a car accident, caused by a reckless driver, you have the right to seek a compensation claim that will cover your medical expenses, lost wages, or to help you move on with your life after losing your family member.

A car accident attorney will help you take all the needed steps. Your lawyer will negotiate with the insurance company until they offer you a decent settlement. It’s very possible that they try to downpay you or deny the settlement. Act smart – contact a Brooklyn car accident attorney at Cellino Law.

  • Cellino Law is an amazing firm with a great team. I worked with Greg Pajak and his assistant, Tracey Falconer. I cannot express enough how dedicated they are. The personal attention I received was excellent; they were always available to help with questions and concerns and put me at ease in the unknown territory I found myself in. I highly recommend them to anyone needing representation. A huge thank you to them for all they accomplished for me!

  • Thank you for your efforts on my behalf. I am very pleased (and surprised) at the amount of the settlement. We will use the funds to help pay down the debt on the truck we had to purchase after ours was totaled. Thank you again.

  • Cellino Law was a great company to work with. From the beginning they came out and met with my uncle and myself and assured us that everything would be taken care of from beginning to end our lawyer state and constant contact with us to make sure that everything would go smoothly and it did. I would definitely recommend anybody to go to Cellino Law for whatever help they need. And specifically please ask for the lawyer that we had Mr. Alan Silverstein. He was amazing and his staff was always attentive. Please go with them for your next law needs.

  • I highly recommend Cellino Law to anyone involved in a car crash. I worked with Michael Lovecchio, and had a wonderful experience given the circumstances. He was very attentive, and got the best possible outcome I could have wanted.
