The police announced that they have arrested the man who set up a fatal Bronx shooting in which a teenage boy was killed. The police also charged the victim’s brother for possessing a gun when he showed up at the scene.

Nineteen-year-old Desire Louree was charged with murder on January 14, 2021 for setting up the shooting that killed sixteen-year-old Kahlik Grier on January 11.

Louree was a known gang member who got out of jail a month before the fatal Bronx shooting. He planned an ambush on four people that were going to a party on the ninth floor in Webster Avenue in Norwood, the police said.

Louree wasn’t in the building when the shooting happened, the police said. The police are still seeking the trigger man.

The shooter opened fire on the group shortly before midnight, hitting a nineteen-year-old man in the upper body and a twenty-two-year-old man in his ankle. The other guests at the party, a man and a woman weren’t hurt.

The gunman escaped down the stairs and while running he came across Khalik on the eight floors. The teen was going back home after playing video games with a friend on the seventh floor. The gunman shot him dead.

According to the Chief of Detectives, Rodney Harrison, the victim was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

The teenager died later at Jacobi Medical Center.

The wounded victims took themselves to the Montefiore Medical Center. The medics transferred  them to Jacobi Medical Centre; they’re in stable condition.

Even though the police charged Khalik’s brother for carrying a gun at the scene, the detectives don’t believe he was anyhow connected to the fatal Bronx shooting.

  • Joe and I just wanted to send you this note thanking you for the professional way you handled our lawsuit. Your kindness was extremely appreciated in a very difficult time. When we found out the people that caused the accident had no insurance, we thought our chances of receiving any settlement was nonexistent. Once we met with you and released you were able to help us our minds were put at ease. Your aggressive manner of handling the case exceeded our expectations. Please feel free to use us as a reference. Thank you so much and best wishes,

    Danielle and Joe
